Many families wish to undergo genetic testing. Testing helps to understand whether they have the expanded CAG repeat on the huntingtin gene. This is the gene responsible for Huntington’s disease. Genetic testing is available in all states and territories of Australia. In many states, this includes regional centres.
In Australia, predictive testing is available to people 18 years or older.
